Every
accomplished artist has his moment of universal awakening. For Tim, ‘The
Moment’ would not only signal the day Steve Angello caught on to his studio
talents, but the moment that the world truly awakened to one of the many
immortal memories Tim has since imparted upon global club land. Subsequent
studio bombs ‘Anima’ and ‘Swoon’ have asserted the young Brit as an essential
asset to one of dance music’s most relevant labels to date.
“There
was never any creative pressure in joining Size Records other than to make
every track the best it can possibly be,” explains Tim. “’The Moment’ was a
really positive first strike for the label, so by the time ‘Anima’ and ‘Swoon’
were picked up the whole process felt very organic. There comes a moment of
mutual clarity – the team knows what you are capable of. It’s about learning
how your own merits can match the label’s vision.”
Before
the Brighton-based talent had his way with their assorted musical assets, Zedd,
Moby, David Guetta, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Timbaland shared little
correlation on the market other than being industry-leading names. Having all
now received remixes from this peak time powerhouse, that collection of A-list
artists has come to epitomize the unapologetic and universal nature of Tim’s
ability to make dance music coherent to the popular market. With the appeal for
pop/dance crossovers reaching an all-time-high, Tim’s consistent agenda for
bringing mainstream artists onto dance floors across the globe cannot be
faulted.
For
all his studio exploits, the dance floor is still where the full brunt of Tim
Mason is felt. Now a welcome face on the North American club and festival
circuit alike, Tim’s ability to hold both culturally diverse crowds and still
hold the fort on such legendary clubbing landscapes as Ibiza signals the
all-embracing charm of his hard-hitting DJ sets. Tim’s live legacy is now a
full blown global affair; notable gig highlights over the past 12 months
include standout performances for festival brands such as Creamfields,
Sensation and Coachella, as well as an A-Z of the hottest club venues on the
planet including Ministry Of Sound, Cream, Avalon, Gatecrasher, Amnesia and
AgeHa plus, of course, multiple Size Matters events worldwide.
Tim
Mason rolled out his 2.0 sound in 2014, kicking things off with the universally
acclaimed ‘Starlight’ on Spinnin’, a track that effortlessly transcended musical
boundaries and had heavyweight playlist support for months from A-list DJs as
diverse as Pete Tong, Tiësto, Nicky Romero, Above & Beyond, R3hab, Armin
van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Ferry Corsten, Gareth
Emery, Sander van Doorn and many more besides. The follow-up single ‘Together’,
plus new hit ‘Rapture’ gathered even greater momentum for the Tim Mason progressive house evolution
and with forthcoming collaborations with the likes of Paul van Dyk and vocalist
Harrison , the future is looking no less intense for this globetrotting artist..
