Throttle

Although just 19 years of age, Australian producer Throttle has become one of the hottest names in house music. Drawing from disco, jazz, hip-hop and funk - he fuses together countless references and eras into a genre he calls ‘dirty-disco’. Old-school meets new-school as he puts his own unique stamp on every production. Throttle isn’t about what’s trending now, but what’s cool indefinitely. First coming to the world’s attention aged just16withInspire — his incredible live mash-up of 20 different tracks - his career quickly blossomed and once he began creating original sounds, it was clear that he was no one-trick pony.
Full biography:
Racking up 5 million plays, his breakthrough video led to him being asked by the mighty Avicii to remix You Make Me, which he flipped into a potently euphoric electro house jam. The remix received its premiere from Rolling Stone, hit #1 on blog aggregator Hype Machine’s chart and #12 on Beatport. Not bad for a high school kid.

After working tirelessly on his production skills and releasing a clutch of increasingly popular tracks, he hit gold on his collaboration with Dutch house genius, Oliver Heldens.Together they crafted the glorious piano house banger Waiting, which became one of 2016’s biggest tracks with over 15 million plays and led to Throttle joining Heldens on his bus tour of the US and during his mainstage set at Tomorrowland.

Representing the next generation of house music heroes, the duo have found kindred spirits in each other. Then came the massive Money Maker on Spinnin’. Fusing classic disco samples with new school house bounce and lashings of funk, this fresh jam picked up well over 1 million plays online before Positiva/Virgin EMI picked it up for an irresistible vocal version that made a serious crossover chart splash. Following on from the success of his rework of Earth, Wind & Fire’s September — the only time the legendary act have ever allowed an official remix of their music — it again made clear his love of classic ‘70s sounds, with his retro-leaning approach marking him apart from his contemporaries.

He’s also provided music for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, signed to Warner in Australia and scored another big crossover in his stellar remix of AlunaGeorge’sI’m In Control ,  which was presented exclusively by Shazam in partnership with a Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Increasingly in demand as a DJ too—playing gargantuan events like EDC Vegas and  New York and at Ibiza’s epic Ushuaïa — he’s been crushing every element of his game effortlessly.
